Chef John Howie is widely recognized as the
foremost expert on plank cooking. He is the author of “The Cedar Plank
Cookbook” and “The Plank Cookbook”, he is an expert in the time
honored Northwest Native American method of roasting fish, meats and fowl on
cedar planks. |
The former Executive Chef of Palisade in Seattle, he opened
Seastar Restaurant & Raw Bar in Bellevue, WA, in March 2002.
Seastar was
just voted “Best New Restaurant in Western Washington” by KING5 Evening
Magazine Viewers. John will make his fourth appearance at the James Beard
House in October 2003, he has appeared on Martha Stewart Living Television,
CBS Early Morning Show, Food Networks “Best of” and Rick Browne’s Barbeque
America.
